TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The city of Tuscaloosa this week announced it has extended the application deadline for volunteer poll workers for the March 2, 2021 election until Dec. 29. The previous deadline was initially set for Dec. 15. Candidate qualifying for the different municipal races will begin on Jan. 12 and run through Jan. 26. Lunch and water will also be provided by the city on the day of the election. This week, Patch also reported that the city plans to request Gov. Kay Ivey to extend her emergency executive order through March 2, 2021, to allow for expanded absentee and early voting due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Click here to access an application. Requirements for poll workers include: 18 years of age or older.Registered to vote in the city of Tuscaloosa.Available from 6:30 a.m. to shortly after 7 p.m. on March 2, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.Available on April 13 in the event of a runoff election.
