We are busy and growing and find ourselves needing another positive, motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team! Job Description Our ideal candidate will possess a positive "can-do" team-oriented attitude, be willing to jump in wherever needed, have keen observation and people skills, excellent spelling and grammar, proficient computer skills (we are paperless), fine attention to detail, and a great sense of humor. Our LVT’s work very closely with our doctors and clients in every aspect of their work. Experienced candidates should be proficient in IV catheter placement & care, surgical assisting and monitoring, performing start to finish comprehensive dentals including full mouth x-rays and extractions (or passionately willing to learn), proficiency in skilled and surgical nursing, ability to confidently perform technician-only visits for vaccines and other routine patient care, provide client education and preventative care, assist and restrain for procedures, run lab samples in-house (Abaxis) and prepare samples for send-out, perform radiographs, clean and pack surgical instruments, provide loving care for patients, boarding pets and our three beloved and goofy clinic cats, possess a knack for cleaning and organizing, and will enthusiastically support our core values. This position is full time 35 - 40 hrs/week and requires weekday shifts up to 10 hrs, some Saturdays, and some holidays. A $1000 retention bonus is available after a successful completion of 6 months work. Qualifications QUALIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent Current WA State Veterinary Technician license EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Previous animal care background is required; 2+ years preferred. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 18 years old. Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain. Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. Is well-spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature and does not entertain gossip in the workplace. Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members. Has excellent client communication and people skills. Has excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills; including knowledge and pronunciation of veterinary medical terminology and common veterinary phamaceuticals. Can reliably fill the required schedule on time and consistently without recurring schedule conflicts. Additional Information Starting hourly wage $22- $27 DOE plus applicable benefits.
