TUSCALOOSA, AL. — It was a busy weekend for the Tuscaloosa Police Department as officers responded to three unrelated shootings that have since been turned over to the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU). Here are summaries of each incident: TPD officers responded Friday to Hay Court at 4420 21st Street after a woman reported that someone fired multiple shots into her occupied vehicle. TPD says officers located more than a dozen shell casings in the road and noted damage to the woman's vehicle. Three children, ages 8, 6 and 1, were also in the car with the driver at the time of the shooting. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.TPD officers were called Sunday at 8:35 a.m. following a report of a double shooting at Crescent East Apartments in the 4900 block of Second Street East. TPD says the victims and suspect are all family members who may have been arguing over money. The victims, ages 23 and 26, were hospitalized with serious injuries and a third man was taken into custody at the scene. Rakeem Okee Bell, 26, was charged with two counts of attempted murder. As of Monday morning, he remained in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $50,000 for each charge.TPD reports that a 29-year-old man was injured when someone shot into his home at University Manor in the 400 block of 29th Place at 11:21 p.m. Sunday. The victim was sitting on a couch with one of his children when they heard gunfire. The man, his wife and their four children then took cover on the living room floor. He was hospitalized at DCH for gunshot wounds that weren't life-threatening. TPD says no arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
