TUSCALOOSA, AL. — A Tuscaloosa man was arrested Thursday morning on a single count of breaking and entering a vehicle.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department said officers were patrolling Hay Court at 7:40 a.m. when they saw two men arguing, before one of the men told officers he had caught 22-year-old Devante Earl Stephens breaking into his girlfriend's car.

The man reported to police that he was inside a residence in the 2200 block of Reese Boulevard when he looked out the window and saw Stephens in the driver's seat of the vehicle. He then said he chased Stephens for about a half mile to Hay Court in the 4400 block of 21st Street and was about to call police when the patrol officers arrived.
Stephens was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail and his bond was set at $15,000.
