Assault Suspect Gets Stuck In Wall, Surrenders To TPD

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — A man was taken into custody after barricading himself in an apartment for more than four hours after police say he assaulted a woman, before locking out her and a child from the residence on Mimosa Park Road. TPD says Hobson then broke through the wall of a bedroom closet to free himself before he was taken into custody. TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said in a press release that officers were first called to the apartment at 3:15 p.m. by a woman who had visible injuries to her face. The woman then reported to officers that Hobson had punched her with his fist multiple times during an argument before he locked her and the small child outside, pushing a refrigerator behind the front door to keep them out.
