Clay-Chalkville Game Against Hueytown Canceled

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — The Jefferson County school district announced Tueday that Clay-Chalkville's game against Hueytown Friday has been canceled amid COVID-19 concerns among the Hueytown players. Although none of the players have tested positive for the virus, the school system said some have shown symptoms of COVID-19. This has also prompted Hueytown to cancel next week's game against Bessemer City. The 8th-ranked Cougars beat Shades Valley in their opening game 37-19. They are scheduled to play at Jasper Sept. 4.
