Description

You have been identified as a key community stakeholder for the Lyman Allyn Park project and we invite you to participate in a workshop. We value your input as neighbors, area Arts & Culture leaders, and supporters of the Lyman Allyn Art Museum. The workshop will be held on: Date: Saturday, February 26, 2022 Time: 10am-1 pm Location: at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, 625 Williams St., New London, CT, 06320. The purpose of this planning workshop is to: Share some of the complex history and contemporary challenges of the Lyman Allyn grounds. Identify improvements and programs that would attract a range of community members and visitors to experience the park. Introduce workshop attendees to the current master planning process and gather their insights on how the park can become a more inclusive and meaningful asset for the community and region. If you are not able to join us, please identify someone from within your organization who can help provide input so we can extend an invitation. It is critical that you confirm if you will attend or not attend to ensure everyone can be accommodated. Please respond by February 21st to ensure adequate spacing. You can RSVP by this link, responding to this email, or by calling 860-443-2545 ext. 2129. We will provide snacks for attendees. If you are unable to join us for the workshop, we still appreciate your input on our Park Survey and welcome you to join our special Open House on Saturday, April 30th. Sincerely, Lyman Allyn Art Museum Facilities Committee Throughout each year, the Lyman Allyn Art Museum offers special programming including exhibition openings, lectures, educational opportunities, and musical events for families and the general public. The Lyman Allyn Art Museum is particularly proud of its commitment to provide art education and cultural enrichment to the youth of our region, with approximately 4,000 school children visiting the Museum each year. The Lyman Allyn collaborates with New London and southeastern Connecticut school systems to design art programs based on specific curriculum needs for students in grades pre-K through 12. The Lyman Allyn’s educational services also include special vacation and summer day camp programs for area children.
