Join Irish native and proud East Aurora resident for an evening of traditional Irish songs accompanied by The East Aurora String Quartet
This collection of songs was first arranged for string quartet by Owen in collaboration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and debuted at Kleinhans Music Hall in 2018.
This is a very rare chance to hear these songs performed acoustically with no artificial amplification, experiencing the pure resonances of the instruments and the voice performed in the historic Chapel on the Roycroft Campus. Experience how the romanticism and depth of these achingly beautiful love songs is perfectly complimented by the lush arrangements for classical strings.
And for the season that’s in it, throughout the performance you will also hear about the historical Saint Patrick, his life told in his own autobiography and the lessons from his story that we can apply to our lives today. You will also hear a blessing of protection known as Saint Patrick’s Breastplate.
