Looking for a small dog.

Hi. We're looking for a small dog, 20-30lbs to add to our family. I have a 5 yr old autistic son who loves dogs, but our Great Dane is a bit much for him. It's mainly her drool. The ideal dog would be calm, sweet and enjoy hanging out with my son while he reads, plays quietly and just help him feel calmed and grounded when he's feeling overwhelmed sometimes. Not looking for a specific breed or age, though no older than like 4-5 yrs would probably be best. It's about finding the right dog for our family. Must like other dogs and cats. Liking car rides is a huge plus. Not UTD isn't a deal breaker, as the dog will be added to the Banfield pet plan I have on our Great Dane. Willing to pay a small rehoming fee, and can provide references if needed.
