Childcare Nursery Staff (Columbia Neighborhood, Bellingham, WA) St. Paul's Episcopal Church has an opening for a Childcare/Nursery Attendant. Flexible schedule that works around your other prior commitments. Nursery staff must be 18 or older. College students with any major, and especially education majors, are encouraged to apply. Part-time workers or semi-retired seniors would also be a good fit. We are an open and affirming congregation and DO NOT discriminate based on race, class, gender, or LBGTQ affilation. You MUST be able to pass a background check and have positive employment references. Childcare Responsibilities: ~supervise children in a Nursery setting from Birth-age 5 (some older, if parents prefer) during church services ~provide structured games to larger group (5-20 kids) between church services ~change diapers as needed ~Sanitize toys on a regular basis ~Other duties as assigned Additional duties on Sunday morning: ~Clean up after services in the Worship space (after the services are finished; this is optional to increase hours) ~Other duties as assigned Potential times for additional hours/work: ~Provide childcare during other special events or activities. These are often mixed age groups~Provide childcare during class sessions on Wednesday evenings ~Help prepare meals for Wednesday Evening community dinner and clean up after the meals ~Provide childcare for monthly parents night out on Friday evenings ~Other duties as assigned Qualifications: ~Experience working with kids ~Ability to HELP children settle conflicts ~Self-regulator - will work to complete extra tasks, without being asked ~Follows direction Typical Shifts: (these are "covid times" and are subject to change as our church schedule changes): PRIMARY: Sundays - 8:00am - 12:00noon or 1:30pm SECONDARY: Wednesdays - 4:15pm-8:15pm & 4th Friday- 4:45-9:15 Other special events throughout the year - occasional evening services or weekend event childcare Background and reference checks will be required upon being hired.
