This training will prepare teacher candidates to successfully pass the RICA (Reading Instruction Competence Assessment). This training will prepare teacher candidates to successfully pass the RICA (Reading Instruction Competence Assessment). Topics will include: Test taking strategies The five domains of a reading teacher's knowledge and skillsPractice test review. This training will be led by Anita Swanson who has decades of experience teaching elementary students and her passion is beginning reading instruction. She now teaches and supervises with Teach Lake County, providing instruction and support to Intern teachers in Lake and Mendocino Counties. This session is open to anyone who is planning on taking the RICA and has already completed the beginning reading course in their preparation program. Space is limited to 20 participants, so register early! Parking will be available in the rear parking lot. Attendees will have a 30 minute lunch break . Lunch will not be provided, please plan accordingly. Questions?
