Meals on Wheels and Senior Center Nutrition services deliver more than just a meal. Join your fellow Georgia senior nutrition professionals as we dive into varied topics such as program design, volunteer recruitment after the pandemic, ageism and the client experience, food services: menu development, quality control, and getting client feedback, best practices, and the latest developments and opportunities from Meals on Wheels America. The highlight will be a private, guided tour of the historic Davenport House, an immaculately restored house museum which was the beginning of the historic preservation movement in Savannah and the first home to be open to the public as a museum. Our visit to the Davenport House will include a Madeira wine tasting. Madeira was the wine of the elite of the Colonial era. A favorite wine of Thomas Jefferson, it was used for the toast at the signing of the Declaration of Independence. After the tour we will enjoy a four-course dinner in a private room at Churchill’s Restaurant on Bay Street, an historic English Pub.
