WRENTHAM, MA—Police say a seven-car crash on Route 1 in Wrentham on Friday occurred due to a drunk driver failing to stay in his lane.
The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. when the drunk driver, who was traveling northbound, crossed the center line and struck a vehicle traveling southbound, according to police. The initial crash caused a chain reaction involving five other vehicles.
Six people were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the driver was arrested at the scene and charged with operating under the influence of liquor. His identity has not yet been released.
