Description

Join us as we celebrate and honor Daisy L. Gatson Bates! MEMBERS & NON-MEMBERS - Every day we are creating history that future generations will learn about and draw inspiration from as they blaze their own trails. Join us as we honor Arkansas Native Daisy L. Gatson Bates (and the namesake of The Nest’s street!), one of our state’s most important civil rights activists who found her voice during a historical movement dominated by men. The evening kicks off at 5 p.m. with a Happy Hour provided by Flyght Black and Raduno Brick Oven & Barroom. The evening will then settle into a genuine and thought-provoking empowerment session at 6 p.m. with our remarkable panel of local Black women leaders discussing what it looks like to lean into legacy in the year 2022. At 6:45 p.m., we’ll open up the discussion to YOU and talk about legacy and the lessons learned from courageous leaders such as Daisy L. Gatson Bates. Attendees are welcome to view the “Leaning into Legacy” pop-up exhibit in The Canopy, sponsored by the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center. Panelists: Quantia “Key” M. Fletcher, Director of Mosaic Templars Cultural Center Jennelle Primm, Entrepreneur and marketing professional Keisha Merritt, Director of Onboarding, Associate Learning & Leadership for Walmart
