The Ludington Area Center for the Arts will host The Special Consensus Saturday, May 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $20/advance or $25/door. The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) will host GRAMMY nominated bluegrass band The Special Consensus LIVE in Concert Saturday, May 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The Special Consensus is a bluegrass band that hasachieved a contemporary sound in their four decades of performing, making theirmusic a modern classic. The band is led by Greg Cahill, banjo player andrecipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award from the InternationalBluegrass Music Association (IBMA), and includes Greg Blake (guitar), DanEubanks (bass) and Michael Prewitt (mandolin). Special Consensus has receivedsix awards from the IBMA and two Grammy nominations. They are four talentedvocalists and instrumentalists who follow their creative desires withoutstraying too far from their bluegrass roots. “Rivers and Roads” (CompassRecords) was nominated for the 2018 Best Bluegrass Album GRAMMYaward and received 2018 IBMA awards for Album of the Year andInstrumental Recorded Performance of the Year (“Squirrel Hunters”). “ChicagoBarn Dance” (Compass Records) 2020 celebrates the 45th band anniversary and theconnection of country and bluegrass music to Chicago from the time of the WLS“National Barn Dance” - precursor to the Grand Ole Opry.
