Description

Memorial Service to Honor our Fallen Law Enforcement Officers On behalf of the Hall of Fame let me say thank you for your desire to join us in honoring and remembering our fallen brothers and sisters. Your talents and professionalism will be noticed and appreciated by everyone in attendance, and especially by the hundreds of family survivors who traveled here. The Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 20th at 7:00 pm on the grounds of the American Police Hall of Fame in Titusville, Florida. The service will include a roll call of those officers lost in 2021, roll call of fallen officers with family in attendance, tributes to those lost in the line of duty, and an outpouring of support and love for our Thin Blue Line families. Duties: Honor Guard, Color Guard, Tomb Guard, Wreath Presentation & Guard, 2021 Survivor Escort and Formation. The Colors, Tomb and Wreath all require guards, and the guards will be exchanged every 5-10 minutes depending on weather and total number of HG participation. Colors and Wreath are changed out during the service while the Tomb Guard (the Tomb is indoors) is changed out beginning at 5:00p until 7:00p leading up to service commencement. Practice Dates: Tuesday May 17th , Thursday May 19th , Friday May 20th With several different agencies participating together for the first time, it would be good if as many as possible could attend the Thursday practice. Friday practice is mandatory for all. Police Hall of Fame Contact: Barry Shepherd (email) [email protected] HG Service Lead: Sgt. Latricia Smith, Brevard County SO. (email) [email protected] All Honor Guard Members are required to register for the event. Registration fee is $60 per member and includes the 2021 Memorial t-shirt and hotel room for Friday and Saturday nights. HG are also invited to join us on Saturday, May 21st as we treat the surviving family members to a day at the Legendary Horsepower Ranch, including motor coach transportation. The afternoon will be filled with a variety of activities for all the young at heart, as well as plenty of food and photo ops! We encourage you to spread your wings and share with other agencies and survivor families, providing the opportunity to build relationships that will last a lifetime. This year's host hotels are: Hyatt Place Titusville, TownePlace Suites Titusville and Fairfield Inn & Suites Titusville. Hotel reservation information and links will be emailed following your event registration. Lori is the director for the Family Survivor Program.
