Malden Lifts Mask Mandate, Brings Back In-Person Meetings

MALDEN, MA — Health officials in Malden eased up on their COVID restrictions this week, citing the declining number of COVID cases and hospitalizations in the city. Starting Friday, masks are no longer required in indoor public spaces, including retailers, gyms and fitness centers, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, event venues and social clubs. This applies to both customers and employees. Public meetings may be conducted in person starting Monday, Feb. 7. However, state law allows for remote meetings if necessary until April 20. The mask mandate is still in effect inside municipal buildings. This applies to all employees and visitors at Malden City Hall, the police and fire stations, the Department of Public Works, the Malden Public Library, Senior Center, Teen Center and Parking Department.
