Press release from The Nature Conservancy: February 3, 2022 MABA president a leading voice on agricultural issues across Michigan The Nature Conservancy (TNC) — a global conservation organization dedicated to conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends — today announced Chuck Lippstreu is joining its Michigan Board of Trustees. Lippstreu is president of the Michigan Agri-Business Association (MABA). "I am thrilled to welcome Chuck Lippstreu to our board," said Helen Taylor, TNC's state director for Michigan. "Chuck's leadership on a wide range of issues affecting Michigan agriculture and our state's rural communities will be a tremendous asset to TNC." "The Nature Conservancy in Michigan is well-known as a proactive, pragmatic organization that works closely with our agriculture sector to tackle big challenges," Lippstreu said. "I am proud to join TNC's Michigan Board of Trustees and help advance their work to protect our land and water, promote climate solutions, and develop new economic opportunities for agriculture." Chuck's career in the agriculture industry has spanned the public and private sectors. Before leading MABA, he served on the corporate communications team at Land O'Lakes, Inc. Previously, he led communications for a range of Michigan farm and agribusiness organizations. Prior to that he spent several years in Washington, DC, where he served as speechwriting director for U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and was an advisor to the administrator of the federal Farm Service Agency. In addition to his work at MABA, Chuck is active in efforts to bolster the agricultural sector. He serves as a member of the International Trade and Agricultural Policy Committee of the National Grain and Feed Association; a member of the Economics Department Advisory Board at Grand Valley State University; and was reappointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer earlier this year to represent agriculture on Michigan's Environmental Rules Review Committee. Chuck is originally from Lincoln, NE and received a Bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska. He lives in Grand Rapids with his wife Monica and their son.
