Description
DANVERS, MA —The Danvers finance department has been honored for excellence in budget presentation.
The Government Finance Officers Association bestowed its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the town for its Fiscal Year 2022 budget. The town said the award is given to less than 5 percent of municipalities each year.
"I couldn't be prouder of our finance team," Director of Administration & Finance Rodney Conley said. "This award is a testament to their hard work and commitment to transparency and accountability."
Honorees are based on "having a budget that serves effectively as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device."
Roughly 1,700 state, county and local governments receive a GFOA Budget Award.
"As an elected official, learning of this award reinforces my confidence that our community's finances are being managed professionally and effectively," Select Board Chair Gardner Trask said.
