CONNECTICUT — Coronavirus-associated hospitalizations continue to plummet in Connecticut, while the daily positivity rate remains below 7 percent. The state Department of Public Health has reported the number of hospitalized coronavirus patients in Connecticut has dropped to 785, down 84 beds overnight. According to data released Friday, 47.9 percent of those hospitalized in Connecticut with COVID-19, or 376 patients, are fully vaccinated. Currently, the highest number of the hospitalized —249 — are in Hartford County. COVID-19 infections in the state have remained steady overnight, sitting just under 7 percent at 6.58 percent. The daily coronavirus positivity rate is a function of the number of tests compared to the number of cases confirmed positive each day. Overnight, 1,269 positive cases were logged, out of 19,296 tests taken. The numbers of tests and cases confirmed do not include those taken with at-home self-test kits.
