TOWSON, MD — The Towson Walmart was evacuated Friday night due to fire and smoke in the store, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. A clothing rack inside the store in the 1200 block of Putty Hill Avenue was ablaze, the Providence Volunteer Fire Company reported after 5:45 p.m. Multiple hose lines were used to put out the blaze, fire officials said, noting an engine and a truck from the Providence station were working at the scene. Sprinklers had activated, and the fire was out by 6:30 p.m., according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. Nobody was injured.
