WRENTHAM — Wrentham Police Chief Bill McGrath is crediting Detective Bill O'Connell with pulling off a "Hail Mary" after his quick action may have helped save a life at last week's New England Patriots game. McGrath said on Friday that O'Connell was working a detail at Gillette Stadium when he responded to a call of "man down." O'Connell then performed CPR until emergency medical and fire crews arrived and administered a defibrillator.
McGrath said at last check the man was sitting up in bed and recovering for Christmas.
"As police work goes, one minute nothing, next minute, life or death," McGrath said.
