CLAY, AL — The order by Gov. Kay Ivey last week to shelter-in-place, and the announcement by the Jefferson County Department of Health weeks ago regarding social distancing has prompted the City of Clay to place barriers at the entrance of Cosby Lake, according to a Trussville Tribune report.
Despite the order by the county in March, officials said many people ignored social distancing guidelines and congregated at the lake anyway, hence the barriers placed at the entrance over the weekend.
