Press release from Western Kentucky University: February 3, 2022 Here's a WKU winter weather update for Thursday and Friday (Feb. 3-4): Western Kentucky University will close at 4:30 p.m. today, February 3. All evening classes are canceled. WKU will continue to monitor weather throughout the day, and if it becomes necessary to close earlier, an announcement will be made via email, text, on social media, and on the WKU News website. All Western Kentucky University campuses will be closed and classes canceled Friday, February 4, due to inclement weather. Only essential personnel, including adverse weather crews, emergency services personnel, and necessary food service and HRL staff should report to campus. If unsure, employees should consult with their supervisors to determine reporting status. Road conditions will likely be hazardous. Please avoid travel if at all possible. Follow www.wku.edu/news for the latest information. Campus updates Transit: Due to inclement weather, all transit service will suspend at 5 p.m. today. The last route of the day will begin at 4:30 p.m. TapRide service will also end at 4:30 p.m. For up-to-date information on the shopping shuttle for Saturday, visit NextBus. Parking: Beginning at 4:30 p.m. today, all parking lots will be open with no permit required. Housing permit enforcement will resume on Sunday (Feb. 6) at 4:30 p.m. Due to expected ice, the top floors of the Parking Structures will be closed. When ice develops, please use caution.
