MAHWAH, NJ — Investigators found more than 1,000 digital child pornography files in a Mahwah man's Internet history, according to a news release from the Bergen County Prosecutor.
Christopher M. Troiano, 37, was arrested in Paramus on Thursday. He faces charges of second-degree possession of child pornography and second-degree distribution of child pornography, prosecutor Mark Musella's office announced Friday.
After a months-long investigation, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Troiano's Konight Court residence in Mahwah.
"The investigation revealed that Troiano used the Internet to view, download, and possess more than 1000 digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children," the news release said. "It was determined that Troiano distributed digital files of child pornography on the Internet, as well."
Troiano is being held in Bergen County Jail.
