Visual arts teacher Lexie Benardot had the idea to celebrate the life and legacy of the famed televised artist Bob Ross with her students at Philip Simmons Middle School. Students dressed up as the artist and followed along to one of his videos while painting on their own canvasses. (WTMA)The Charleston City Council will hold a special Council meeting on Feb. 8. The special meeting will allow property owners to appeal to be included in the Johns Island Municipal Improvement District. Due to the ongoing pandemic, citizens are urged to tune into the meeting via YouTube channels and to participate virtually. (holycitysinner.com)A woman has been hit by a car during an incident that occurred at a Charleston home on Thursday. According to the Charleston Police Department, the woman was allegedly attempting to break into the home to set fire to it. 55-year-old Lucy Riggs has been arrested and is being treated for her injuries.
