Press release from the City of Minneapolis: February 3, 2022 Minneapolis Police Department Interim Chief Amelia Huffman has released body-worn camera video from the Feb. 2, 2022 officer-involved shooting. The footage, along with a still image from the video, is being released by MPD in compliance with State Statutes, section 13.82 Subd. 15. Prior to releasing this video publicly, the City made sure the family of the decedent had the opportunity to review it. Interim Chief Huffman coordinated the early release of the footage with investigators at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) without compromising the integrity of their investigation or their ability to collect evidence.
