UPDATE: Suspect was arrested Friday morning by Detroit Police. DETROIT — Detroit Police are looking for a man they said robbed two Detroit dollar stores Wednesday afternoon 41 minutes apart. The man first walked into the Dollar General on the 1500 block of East Jefferson at 12:25 p.m., and walked to the counter demanding money, acting as if he was armed with a weapon, police said. The man then exited the store with a handful of money and fled the scene in a black Jeep with an Arkansas license plate number of ACA60X, officials said. 41 minutes later, police said the same man then walked into a Family Dollar on the 2200 block of West Davison at 1:06 p.m., and demanded money from the cash register, again acting as if he was armed with a weapon. He then fled the store in the same black jeep with a handful of money, police said. Although the man acted as if he was armed during the robberies, police did not describe a weapon, and no injuries were reported by police in either robbery. Police described the man as about 35 years old, 6 feet, 2 inches, wearing a dark colored skull cap, surgical mask, multi-colored zip-up coat and blue jeans. If anyone recognizes this suspect, or has any information pertaining to these robberies, call the Detroit Police Department's 7th precinct at 313-596-5740, 313-596-1040, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
