Many people want to hear samples of your playing or singing. Sadly, when they get the samples, they judge your abilities on whether or not they like the song, not on how well you play or sing. Many people are able to sing and play an extremely wide variety of styles but you can't put all those styles into one or two songs. When asking someone to submit samples, either state specifically what you want to hear in style or list a specific song you would like to hear them play if possible. Don't have a closed mind to the music you receive. The person who sent it to you may be phenomenal but you didn't like the song and blew them off.
