Here are the top 3 stories today in Anchorage: In 2021, more than 4.5 million people traversed the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Approximately two million more passengers passed through ANC, which is a 93% increase from 2020. The airport reported handling approximately 3.6 million metric tons of air cargo in 2021, breaking its record for cargo volume by 14%, or just over 400,000 metric tons.(kinyradio.com) On Feb. 3, 2022, at 10:04 p.m., both the Anchorage Police Department and the Anchorage Fire Department responded to the 3400-block of E Tudor Road reference an injured adult male. Upon arrival, officers located the victim lying outside on the sidewalk who was then transported to the hospital by medics with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries. (Anchorage Police Department)Keegan Messing, the Anchorage Olympian stuck in Canada because of COVID-19 protocols, has produced two negative test results since testing positive. Team Canada is trying to remain positive about efforts to get their best male figure skater to China in time to compete at the Winter Olympics. Messing and team officials are looking for flights that would get him to Beijing prior to the men's singles competition on Tuesday.
