Job Summary: The Field Technician is responsible for home internet installations. The process includes the installation of a wireless radio on the roof of the house, cabling from radio to router inside house (no attic work) and configuration of routers. This is an outside field position that requires an individual with good communication skills, self-directed and has good initiative. Essential functions of position include, but are not limited to the following: • Independently perform antenna/radio installations on roofs, antenna weights 3lbs, 1x1ft, use of ladder is required. • Assemble and install non-penetrating roof mounts and wall mounts. • Complete cabling installations – run and terminate cat5/6 cables. • Mount and adjust microwave radios. • Strong communication skills with clients and office techs. • Respond to service calls and perform high-level troubleshooting for RF, IP, and physical hardware/cabling issues in order to resolve service issues. • Professional and courteous behavior at all times. Qualifications: The ideal candidate as Field Technician / Service Technician is a self-driven individual that can learn fast and can adapt every day as required. Each appointment will be a different customer and a different house which requires an individual that can adapt fast. The qualifications listed below indicate the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to be successful. • Valid driver license – AirFiber provides work trucks. • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines. • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized. • Basic knowledge of networking equipment – wi-fi routers and switched. • Knowledge and experience with power tools and construction equipment. • Excellent English communication skills. • Must be able to effectively execute duties with minimum direction or supervision while working well with others. • Ability to safely climb and descend portable ladders, towers, rooftops or other structures. • Ability to lift and carry loads up to 70 pounds.
