Summary: This position is responsible for providing the care, control and security of the facility by controlling access to the building, monitoring life safety systems, completing daily reports and logs and ensuring all access points are secure. Assist in converting the Arena, Community Ice Rink, and Conference Center to and from various events and operate the Zamboni. In addition, this position is responsible for monitoring the parking lot. Qualifications: • Must be mature, reliable and able to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Able to work flexible hours including shift work, weekends and holidays • Have strong interpersonal skills • Ability to walk moderate distances and climb stairs • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to Policies and Procedures • Not possess a criminal record • Background and/or training in law and security an asset • Previous experience in a public assembly venue preferred • Basic Computer Knowledge Job Functions: • Monitor and control access to and from the facility • Monitor life safety systems and respond accordingly • Perform rounds to ensure security of the facility • Monitor the parking lot and ensure only authorized vehicles are in the lot • Provide information and direction to guests, contractors, etc • Keep clear and concise notes for security log • Assist in facility operations and maintenance • Assist in event conversions and operations • Perform other duties as assigned *Must have reliable transportation.
