Hardwood Flooring Company- looking to hire a driver/warehouse maintenance. Join our team and learn a trade-growth opportunity available. POSITION OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE: Assist Warehouse Supervisor with daily maintenance and handling all aspects of shipping, loading, and unloading of products. Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks efficiently. REPORTING TO POSITION Operations Manager Warehouse Supervisor ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DRIVING REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to drive 26ft box truck. • Deliver and or pick up materials for customers. • Pick up vendor supplies when needed. • Clear truck of pallets. • Pick up and return rental truck after delivery is complete. • Assist with van maintenance, check sprinter van before deliveries (tires, gas, DEF, note any damage), maintain and clean company sprinter van, and remove all materials from van to proper storage at end of the day. • Valid New York State driver’s license. WAREHOUSE MAINTENANCE: • Experience operating an electric pallet jack/forklift is a must. • Check for empty boxes - break down and throw out. • Keep neat and clean warehouse premises. • Assist warehouse supervisor with daily safety maintenance. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust. • Handle and operate necessary tools and accessories in maintaining and managing a warehouse. • Must demonstrate professionalism and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure effectively RECEIVING DELIVERIES: • Assist Warehouse Supervisor with receiving deliveries of wood material/inventory. • Ability to assist with a tally of wood pallets. • Experience with forklift PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking. • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust. SKILLS REQUIRED: • 1 to 2 years experience maintaining warehouse area • Reading and comprehension skills. • Strong initiative and self-motivational skills • Verbal communication skills • You must be able to read and take direction in English • You must be at least 18 years old EDUCATION: • Minimum High School diploma or GED. • Requires a minimum of three years of experience in warehouse maintenance and simple equipment repair.
