POSITION DESCRIPTION The collision estimator performs damage analysis and uses computerized estimating system(s) to develop repair plans and cost of repairs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES The essential duties of this position are: · Accurately identify the vehicle including vehicle identification number (VIN), year, make, model, and options · Identify all primary and secondary damage to the vehicle · Identifies parts to be repositioned, removed and reinstalled, removed and replaced, or and repaired · Uses computerized estimating system to develop repair plan and cost of repairs · Selects part type that is appropriate for the vehicle, customer, and the shop · Ensures compliance with internal and insurance company estimating rules · Completes and submits cost of repairs and supplements to insurance companies · Schedules vehicle repairs to ensure balanced workload in the shop · Uses phone to follow-up with all potential customers to schedule repairs · Keep shop equipment clean and in good working condition KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS The following knowledge and skills are required for this position: · Knowledgeable of vehicle construction methods and required repair procedures · Knowledgeable of vehicle construction materials and required repair procedures
