The University of Colorado Boulder is searching for a Custodian III! This position exists to assign cleaning tasks to custodial staff; compile and complete time sheets; order and distribute cleaning supplies, materials and equipment; and respond to complaints about and requests for cleaning services by building users, to provide an atmosphere conducive to the total learning environment. In addition, the Custodian III may be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing facilities for the students, staff, faculty and customers of the Boulder Campus by sweeping, mopping and/or vacuuming floors; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and restocking needed supplies; and timely removal of waste and recyclable materials from building areas. Who We Are: Facilities Management is responsible for the overall physical development and maintenance of the campus. The mission of the department is to provide a safe physical environment that promotes the advancement and transfer of knowledge. We are currently looking for hardworking, reliable individuals to join our team. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be: Plan, assign, coordinate, inspect and review custodial routine cleaning activities in accordance with assigned schedules, floor plans, and procedures. Adjust assignments to accommodate absences. Complete emergency clean up duties as needed. Employees must wear proper personal protective equipment as required. Coordinate and carry out recycling programs, cleaning, and snow removal activities in and around campus buildings as requested. Respond to emergencies whenever they occur. Engage employees in safety culture by ensuring adherence to standard methodologies regarding hazard controls and written policies and procedures and ensure organizational representation in the Safety Committee. Participate in employee safety observation program by performing observations as prescribed or by manager approved alternative. Perform initial employee accident, incident and occupational illness investigation and make suggestions on how to improve safety. Complete prescribed safety and operational training and ensure safety training is completed by employees. Notice and report possible or actual safety hazards, mistakes, accidents and/or procedural violations to Safety Officer in a timely manner. Prepare and review yearly performance management plans with employees. Conduct coaching sessions and prepare ongoing continued education and training opportunities. Inform employees of current policies, procedures, problems, and departmental initiatives. Distribute, collect, and order keys for custodians. Record employee time in Famis daily, print employee timesheet reports weekly. Prepare documentation for verbal, corrective and/or disciplinary actions, and recommend type of action. Review and recommend equipment and materials purchases. Schedule equipment for repairs. Review, order, and distribute supplies and materials. Provide updated information in regard to room use type and changes in floor surface. Meet with building users and maintenance personnel regarding custodial activities and building repairs. Review with manager the status of team activities. Prepare and conduct program presentations to management group. What We Can Offer: The annual salary range for this position is $43,800.00 - $45,000.00. What We Require: Two years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Must be a Colorado resident to apply. Must have a valid Colorado driver's license. What You Will Need: Computer skills (familiarity with email, Outlook/Teams Calendar, and basic Office programs such as Word and Excel). Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. What We Would Like You To Have: Supervisory experience (manager, supervisor or lead). Custodial experience within a school or higher education environment.
