Chappell Tractor has a full time opening in our Service Department located in Concord, NH for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This position involves the following: - preparing units for delivery and performing periodic service & maintenance - repairing equipment including engine, transmission, rear/front axle and hydraulic cylinder overhaul - diagnosing and repairing compact tractors, farm tractors and construction equipment in the shop To be considered for this position, candidates must have prior experience working as a technician in a Service Department at an equipment, truck or automotive dealership. The ideal candidate will have graduated from a technical or vocational school and be knowledgeable with all major mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems found in this type of equipment. Experience working on gas engines, diesel engines and welding is a plus. Experience in using laptop computers with the Manufacturers software applications to troubleshoot equipment problems is a requirement.
