Description
I am a guitarist/ vocalist. Looking for band or musicians I am currently committed to a cover band that gigs regularly, and I love playing with them, but I’m needing to express myself musically and be somewhat in control of how I do that. I will continue with them because it’s fun and different from what I’m use to. I absolutely love that raw 60’s bluesy rock power trio feel and sound. So What I’m looking for are fun guys that appreciate and respect their craft. Have the work ethic and desire to push themselves musically. A band that wants to gig 1 to 2 times a month and focuses on those shows with the intent to make each one a unique musical experience for the crowd. I’d like the foundation of the band to be a raw power trio that does covers of songs not usually covered by raw bluesy rock bands. Maybe throw a keyboardist in if we find one. I’d like to get a setlist together and start gigging, and always add to the setlist/shows so even when friends and family attend it’s never “the same shit”. Looking to do music From Zappa to Steely Dan, from from Primus to Santana. I don’t always like covering songs note for note, so we feed off the audience response and jam/improvise. Just get lost in the unique moment of the song at that specific space and time. Here are just some of the songs I’d like to cover, and yeah some can’t really be deconstructed without completely changing them in to something completely different so they’ll be like the originals. I’d also like to consider writing as a band once we’re tight. 1. Soul with a capital S 2. Do it again 3. Devil went down to Georgia 4. Whipping post 5. South California purples 6. Señorita 7. Gimme shelter 8. Tender surrender 9. Blues deluxe 10. My guitar wants to kill your mama 11. I am the walrus 12. Feelin alright 13. Just got paid 14. Black magic woman 15. Superstition-because we’ve ended as lover- Jeff Beck versions 16. Cocaine blues 17. Barnyard break down in to moose knuckle shuffle 18. Little miss can’t be wrong (maybe) 19. Left hand free 20. You don’t know me 21. Wynonas big brown beaver I am not looking to get famous but I’m also not looking for hobbyist that don’t practice and show up to gigs in cargo shorts and flip flops. Effort, respect and pride in what you do matters the most to me. I also don’t care about your age.
