The City of Puyallup is hiring for Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker I positions. The city anticipates hiring several positions through this recruitment. There are Parks and Cemetery maintenance position openings, lasting up to six months, to assist with increased workloads. Specific beginning and ending dates of employment may be flexible. Positions perform a variety of manual labor activities in the Parks and Cemetery areas and at parks facilities. Activities include (but are not limited to) maintaining and watering plants, weed control, mowing, litter and trash collection, restroom cleaning, ball field preparation and maintenance, interior and exterior painting, minor plumbing, other repairs, and maintenance activities as assigned. These positions will work in highly visible areas involving frequent interaction with the public, requiring positive and proactive communication and customer service skills. Qualifications: • Must be at least 18 years of age to operate maintenance equipment. • Minimum one-year work experience in horticulture, landscaping or building and grounds maintenance preferred, or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skills, and abilities required. • Must have a good driving record to operate machinery and vehicles which is a condition of employment.
