Lifespan recently received a grant from Griswold Home Care of Rochester. The funds were awarded through the Jean Griswold Foundation Griswold Gives COVID-19 Emergency Relief Grant Program. Lifespan helps older adults and caregivers take on “the challenges and opportunities of longer life.” Its services have been in very high demand this year, helping more than 4,000 seniors since March 17. Obtaining food staples, producing online wellness events and placing friendly phone calls have all taken place during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Griswold Gives grant assists in sustaining these programs. Frank Pettinaro of Griswold Home Care said Lifespan is a lifeline for so many vulnerable and frail elderly in the greater Rochester area. “We admire Lifespan’s work and are happy to support its mission financially.” Launched in 2019, Griswold Gives is an annual grant program for Griswold Home Care franchise directors to give back to their communities by awarding grants to local nonprofits of their choice. This year, the Jean Griswold Foundation activated the program early under the new name, Griswold Gives COVID-19 Emergency Relief Program, to assist with food insecurity during the ongoing Pandemic. The Jean Griswold Foundation is a private charity established by Griswold Home Care to further the company’s belief that care for the elderly and disabled should be available to all.
