For the first time, Madison Black Nurses will meet at Madison College's Truax Campus! This group is made by and for Black Nurses in Madison and the surrounding area. Our purpose is supporting and promoting our roles as we navigate the complicated journey as Black members of the community and frontline healthcare professionals on a mission to eliminate our community's racial health inequities. For these reasons we want to create a space to support each other. We know this endeavor has been a long time in the making. Others have attempted to create community in the past but may not have had the support or resources to carry it through. We are excited to have the support of Madison College's School of Nursing and Office of Community Engagement and feel confident that now is the time! If you identify as a Black/African American Nurse or Nursing student, we welcome you into this community, and look forward to connecting at our first meeting. Let's celebrate our history, our perseverance, and our richness together!
