Description
For anyone using CNC Routers to make stuff. A time for show and tell, Q&A, demos and how-tos. A regular (TBD) meetup for anyone interested in sharing and learning more about anything related to using hobby level CNC routers. While all CNC router related topics are welcome, X-Carve/Easel and Shapeoko/Estlcam will have priority. Q&A, demos and how-to topics: CAM software (Easel, Estlcam, etc.)CNC hardware (machines, tips and tricks, etc.)2-3D vector graphics (CAD, Inkscape, etc.)Get help and feedback on projects and ideas. Share completed projects or works in progress. Learn more about the Makerspace CNC routers. Help expand the Makerspace CNC offerings. The topics and time allotment of each meetup will be based on the registrants answer to the "What do you want to share or learn?" question on the registration form. When: Wednesday, 6-7:30pm Prerequisites: None Min/max registrations: 2-6 Host: Dave Lers has spent a lot of time with the Makerspace X-Carve/Easel, his custom Workbee and Estlcam. He is currently working on setting up the Makerspace Shapeoko/Estlcam. While he has been learning some of the ins and outs of Inkscape, he's most comfortable with Autosketch (discontinued 2D CAD) and has no 3D CAD skills. Important Information COVID-19: To keep everyone safe; masks (can provide), hand sanitizing (at entrances), temperature checks and social distancing are required at Makerspace. Maximum class size has been reduced to allow for social distancing. Class fees: All class fees include materials. If you are a current Bellingham Makerspace member or scheduled volunteer you may select the discounted member registration. Some instructors offer scholarship discounts and volunteers may be eligible for training discounts. Cancellations: All classes have a minimum number of participants. If the instructor specified number is not reached 24hrs before the class is scheduled to start, the class will be cancelled and any registrations refunded (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). Refund policy: You may request a refund from Eventbrite no later than 24hrs before the class starts (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). After that point instructors and participants are committed and we won't be able to provide any refunds. Other FAQs When and where to arrive? Please arrive 5-15min early for sign-in. Park outside Dick's Sporting Goods. Enter the mall through Dick's, Makerspace is the first on the right.What to bring/not to bring? For shop class personal safety, please wear closed-toe shoes, tie long hair back, and avoid any dangling jewelry or baggy clothing. Bring personal ear and eye protection if you want (do provide).Is there an age limit? All our classes are 18+ (14-18 with parental permission) unless otherwise indicated in the class description.Other questions?
