"Climate Connection" special exhibit opening, with proceeds to benefit the Preservation Parks Foundation
The Preservation Parks Foundation invites you to a special preview opening of "For the Love of Birds: Climate and a Changing Landscape" on Friday, May 27 from 7:30 to 9:30 PM at the Deer Haven Park Visitors Center. Join us for food, mocktails, and a chance to experience this amazing exhibit features scape work by Glass Artist Julie Turrentine and Photographer Caroline Blizzard.
The exhibit is borne out of the artists' combined love of nature and, more specifically, birding. Guests will have the first opportunity to be taken on a visual journey, showing how Ohio oriented birds will be affected by climate change. Different habitats are illustrated through canvas photography and will be supported by interpretive signage. Ten melted glass birds will be scattered throughout the existing exhibit space, enhancing the overall experience by providing identification opportunities.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the nonprofit Foundation and its mission to identify and engage our park district's constituencies and to raising funds to enhance Preservation Parks of Delaware County.
The Preservation Parks Foundation (PPF)was established as a nonprofit organization in 2018 to support the Preservation Parks of Delaware County (PPDC). The Foundation is dedicated to identifying and engaging constituencies and raising funds to enhance this wonderful park system. PPF is committed to helping PPDC staff and volunteers fulfill their mission to protect and conserve natural and historic features of Delaware County and to inspire outdoor exploration and learning.
