Description
Digital Photography Workshop Taught by Professional Photographer The DPA Instructors who lead these workshops are professional photographers who have lived in Boston for at least 10 years, usually longer. Each Composition in the Field class begins with a talk with one of our experienced instructors, and then you and your fellow students take a stroll, along side the teacher, through and around Old North Church. Your instructor will demonstrate and supervise easy-to-learn composition strategies to build your foundation to improve your photographs in the future, whether you’re traveling, or at a birthday party and everywhere in between, indoors and outdoors. For Historic architecture inside and out, nothing beats the picturesque setting of Christ Church in the City of Boston, the communities oldest surviving church building, well known as the Old North Church. Your DPA instructor will offer tips on creative ways to capture the church steeple with Aperture Priority, Framing Techniques, Bug’s eye perspectives toward the rafters, Bird's eye view from the balcony and other ways to turn an ordinary snap shot into a compelling image. Perhaps a street level reference point, taken while lying on the ground can make the often photographed structure into a unique shot. Either way, know that, on April 18th, 1775, church sexton and Vestryman Captain, Robert Newman and John Pulling Jr., respectively, had climbed up there with 2 lanterns, based on warnings of the British troop’s arrival as directed by Paul Revere. There are other photo ops all up and down the street and the interiors of the collection of buildings each offer photo lessons in ambient lighting, including charming detail of ornate designs from centuries ago. Please note – if a class must be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control we will be happy to work with you to reschedule or provide a refund. However, if you should need to cancel or require a new class date, contact us. A $25 transfer fee will be imposed without a 3 day notice before the scheduled class. Call Digital Photo Academy at 1 877 372 2231 or a filed agent at 917 597 7053. Lots of people seem to hang up if our welcome recording comes on instead of a live voice, but we promise to return your message within a day or two if you leave one with your name and number. It would be even better if you included your email address as well as the date and city of the class you are considering. If leaving a voice mail message is not your thing, please email us at [email protected] and include the date and city of the class you are considering, as well as your phone number .
