Come meet some new friends who understand some of the day to day struggles caregivers of individuals with special needs endure.
This is an event to help me fulfill my requirement for a Master's in Special Education. Research shows that parents or caregivers of individuals with special needs often feel alienated or lonely because their social life suffers. Not only are caregivers less likely to have a wide social circle, they are less likely to have friends who truly "get it" when it comes to the hardships a person can face while caring for their loved one.
Take an afternoon for you (and do your best to leave the guilt at home; it's ok to practice self-care!) to meet some new friends. Remember you cannot pour from an empty cup and sometimes you just need a friend to help you keep that cup full.
