Can You See Me Now? Women often feel, and are, unseen in the workplace which diminishes the value placed upon their contributions to our communities and economy. Dr. Turner will explore why women feel unseen and provide strategies to make yourself and other women present. Dr. Paaige K. Turner serves as Dean and Professor in the College of Communication, Information, and Media at Ball State University, ACE Women’s Network of Indiana executive committee and finance chair, Rock Steady Board of Directors chair of governance, Muncie-Delaware Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors vice chair operations, past-president of the Organization for the Study of Communication, Language and Gender (OSCLG), and principal associate in Communication Resource Associates, LLC. She is an experienced higher education administrator, communication teacher/scholar and organizational consultant with an extensive background in gender in the workplace, strategic planning, mentoring, change management, and international education. As an award winning teacher-scholar, she has published over 30 chapters and articles in the area of organizational communication, specifically on topics of internationalization, organizational socialization, customer satisfaction, gender, midwifery and birth, breastfeeding, and the body. Most recently she was an associate editor for the International Handbook of Organizational Communication that received the NCA Organizational Communication Division 2017 Edited Book Award. Women in Business Unlimited is an organization dedicated to providing networking opportunities for business women of East Central Indiana. The overall goal of WIBU is to provide professional development programs to improve women’s business skills. Our programming provides opportunities for meaningful exchange to occur among business women in East Central Indiana. Our mission is to make a positive impact on local economic development and business climate, so that East Central Indiana improves as a place for women to conduct business.
