Description

Pedals 'n Pears - Pedal for a Cause, offers 4 bike rides with distances such as the 4, 14, 30 & 62 Miles in distance. Join us for the 7th Annual Pedals 'n Pears - Pedal for a Cause! Sign up for one of our four different bike rides:The Comice 4 Miles Family Ride - This ride stays on the Bear Creek Greenway for 2 miles to reach Rogue Valley Mentoring center (previously Coyote Trails School of Nature), allowing the kids to run around a bit before hoping back on their bikes to head back to the starting point. The Bosc 14 Miler - This ride follows the Comice, but continues South on the Greenway to South Stage Rd. After crossing Highway 99, riders will make a loop by turning left onto Griffin Creek Rd, left onto Pioneer Rd (continuing straight onto Carpenter Hill Rd), left onto Voorhies Rd and then a right onto South Stage Rd again as you head back to the starting point. The Bartlett 30 Miler - This ride follows the Bosc, but instead of turning left onto Voorhies Rd, riders will continue onto Coleman Creek Rd while working their way through the Pioneer Rd/Dark Hollow Rd area (don't worry our rides are marked with color coded signs) then will get back to the same route as the Comice ride as you head back to the starting point. The Royal Riviera 62 Miler - This metric century ride starts the same as the Comice & Bartlett, but instead of turning left onto Pioneer Rd; riders will continue on Griffin Creek Rd and will turn right onto West Griffin Creek Rd. From there riders will turn right onto Sterling Creek Rd and ride until Highway 238, after turning left and heading towards Ruch. Riders will then turn left onto Applegate Rd and will make their way back by turning left onto Little Applegate Rd back onto Sterling Creek Rd, back to the Griffin Creek area and turning right onto Pioneer Rd. Then riders will primarily follow the Bartlett ride (after making a little jaunt into Phoenix) back into the Pioneer Rd/Dark Hollow Rd area while working their way back to the staring point. Pedals 'n Pears is part of the Pear Blossom Festival which has been a Rogue Valley community event since 1954, sponsored by the Rogue Credit Union and many other local businesses and organizations.  The Festival is a non-profit organization raising funds to support a wide range of local charities including granting scholarships to local high school students.  Pedals 'n Pears donations supports local charities which focus on children and families as well as the Pear Blossom Festival itself.
