Description

Ski Ride Purim is an on-mountain, in-costume celebration of the Jewish holiday of Purim. Come to Smugglers' Notch to spend the day with like-minded, fun-seeking friends (we'll be the ones wearing costumes). Enjoy an outdoor COVID-cautious way to connect. Light breakfast and lunch included. Lunch is 12-1 at yurt of Smugglers’ Notch Ski and Snowboard Club. FAQ What is Purim? Purim celebrates the story of brave Queen Esther stopping an evil plan to destroy the Jewish people. It’s celebrated by dressing up, giving gifts and charity, retelling the story, and skiing (ok, not usually skiing, but that’s how we roll here in Vermont). Do I have to be Jewish to participate? Absolutely not! All joy-seekers are welcome. What if the price is too steep for me? Generous program scholarships available. Contact [email protected] What’s up with lunch? Lunch is located in the yurt of Smugglers’ Notch Ski and Snowboard Club with outdoor seating. Dairy Kosher meal under supervision of Rabbi Eliyahu Junik. What if I don’t ski or snowboard? Join us for lunch and the colorful fun! Vote in the costume contest! Enter the raffle! Volunteer! Good times to be had for all. What if I’m a beginner skier or snowboarder? You may want to start your day on the beginner slopes in the Village area, then head over to Smugglers’ Notch Ski and Snowboard Club for lunch at noon. There is a free shuttle bus every 10 minutes. Is this event appropriate for children? Definitely! What if my family has special needs? Check out the Smuggs’ Adaptive Ski Program. If you have limited mobility or other needs, please contact [email protected] to help us accommodate you. Are Ski or Snowboard rentals included? No. Smuggs' and other ski shops offer rentals, priced separately. Are costumes required? Yes! Well, not really required, but you gotta do it! All the cool kids will be wearing costumes. Let your inner child come and play! A costume can be a crazy hat or as wild as you imagination can go. Costumes must be safe to load the chairlift (nothing that can get caught on the lift) and all skiers/riders must wear a helmet.
