Please send this invite to low-income families and single household parents and inform them of this FREE family back-to-school event. Based upon every major health indicator, the residents of the City of Bell and surrounding communities in greater Los Angeles are experiencing some of the most drastic health care disparities registered within L.A. County. A generation of children and youth are at risk for extremely high rates of diabetes, obesity, and asthma. Further, the infant mortality rate for the city and surrounding communities continues to register at rates higher than that for all of L.A. County In addition, south Los Angeles continues to experience the highest percentage of children without documented health insurance. It is these health disparities and health inequities that AHA is working hard to address and change. Our community outreach services have been designed to provide desperately needed medical and social services to communities that remain underserved as a result of a variety of barriers in accessing health care including linguistic isolation, socioeconomic status and low educational achievement. Our goal for this upcoming Health Fair is to provide access to critical health and social service information and free health screenings. We will offer FREE Rapid COVID19 test, Vaccines Card Updates, Health Dental screening, Pediatric Immunization Consults, Blood Pressure Check, Diabetes Check, Nutritional consultation and on-site enrollment to medi-Cal, Food Stamps, and rental Assistance Programs, including taking a FREE At Home Rapid COVID19 test kits.
