Scarvves (Anna Slate, Isabel Castellvi) give solo and duo performances to open The Music Mansion's 2022 First Fridays concert season! ** LIMITED IN-PERSON TICKETED AUDIENCE + STREAMING ** Anna Slate is a New England-based singer, actor and theater-maker praised for “combining superb theatrical instincts with bright, enchanting vocal gifts,”(San Francisco Chronicle). From Baroque opera, musical theater, and writing a one-woman show about body hair to her experimental music duo, Scarvves, Anna enjoys cultivating a diverse performing career. As a creator & performance artist Anna recently collaborated with dancer Isabel Bowser to create Lilium, a movement and vocal work set to Hildegard Von Bingen. As a singer & actor, Anna has performed with such wonderful artists and companies as NC Stage Company, Skeleton Rep, John Harbison, Libby Larsen, Alan Curtis, Drew Minter, Susanne Mentzer, Heartbeat Opera, OperaRox, and Berkeley West Edge Opera. www.annaslate.com Isabel Castellvi is a versatile cellist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and music educator. Her work ranges from collaborations with songwriters Diane Cluck, Sonya Kitchell and Mark Kozelek, Bollywood orchestras with Falu and Arijit Singh, her duo bands Alula and The Bell Cycle, being a founding member of Mivos string quartet, working with improvisers such as Ned Rothenberg and Kali Fasteau. She has participated in the Asheville Percussion Festival, and worked with various theater, opera and dance companies in North America. Additionally Isabel composes and improvises music for dance, yoga and meditation.
