BROOKHAVEN, GA — MARTA experienced major delays on both north and south lines Tuesday after a train hit and killed a trespasser. The incident occurred near the Brookhaven station. MARTA shut off the rail power and passengers were moved to another train. A train left the Brookhaven station around 6:45 a.m. It hit and killed a trespasser on the train tracks, MARTA Spokeswoman Stephany Fisher told Patch. "Rail power was immediately de-energized and those customers on board the train were moved to another train," Fisher said. "While MARTA Police, Safety, and Rail Operations investigate, bus transportation is being provided for rail customers from Lindbergh to Chamblee stations.
